Repair Cafe

We throw away vast amounts of stuff. Even things with almost nothing wrong, and which could get a new lease of life after a simple repair. The trouble is, lots of people have forgotten that they can repair things themselves or they no longer know how. The Repair Café changes all that!

Repair Cafe Dudley launches on Saturday 10 June

10 local people have been inspired by the Repair Cafe and are starting one in Dudley. They want to do this because:

It makes use of skills and talents in an area.”
“It gets people thinking about not throwing things away.”
“We can look for alternative uses if we can’t repair things.”
“I rescue waste! I love upcycling.”
“The Repair Cafe brings people together, it builds community.
Isolated people and people of all ages can be involved, children can learn too.”

Bring in a broken item and meet local people who have offered to share their skills to help you make repairs. Or offer your skills to help do repairs. It’s an ongoing learning process.

Register to help or bring repairs on 10 June

If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job. You can also get inspired at the reading table, by leafing through books on repairs and DIY.

House Rules: please read the house rules before you register to come to the Repair Café.
